New Year, New You (2018)

A New Year's Eve game of "Never Have I Ever" goes wrong when secrets begin to be revealed. Starring Suki Waterhouse.

[00:00:00] Hello and welcome to the Killer Cuties Podcasts. Where you're hosts, I'm Cassidy and I've seen almost every horror movie out there. New You as part of their Intimate Dark series. Let's get spooky. Should I pick us off with a summary? Yes, please.

[00:00:39] All right, so Alexis, Kayla and Chloe get together for a new year's Eve Party and wait the arrival of their famous influencer friend Danielle. When she does arrive it's clear that there is some tension between her and the others, especially Alexis.

[00:00:55] During a game of never have I ever, Alexis finally snaps and accuses Danielle of bullying a girl Kelsey until she committed suicide. Danielle tries to move on but Alexis waterboards her wish him pain and tells the other girls to tie up Danielle like they all agreed to do.

[00:01:12] Once Danielle has tied up, Alexis burrates her for bullying them and also tries to record Danielle's confession for her role in Kelsey's suicide. However, when recording Danielle is vague and doesn't really admit responsibility for what happened.

[00:01:25] Alexis then escalates smearing makeup on Danielle's face and cutting her hair off. Hey, look, it's overwhelmed and leaves the room to face time her girlfriend Frankie.

[00:01:36] Alexis follows her and while they're gone Danielle convinces Chloe that if she unties her, Chloe can have a spot on her YouTube channel and be famous too.

[00:01:44] So when Alexis and Kayla return, Danielle and Chloe attack them and lock them in the sauna and they intend to leave them there to die so that it looks like an accident. Alexis and Kayla are able to break out though, but they're chased by the other girls.

[00:01:57] Chloe finds Kayla and accidentally kills her when she pushes her and Kayla hits her head. Frankie then arrives looking for Kayla and Chloe kills her when they decide to frame her for the murders.

[00:02:09] They go after Alexis and Alexis is able to push Chloe down the stairs, killing her and Danielle and Alexis get into a fight. Alexis gets the upper hand throws Danielle out a window to her death.

[00:02:20] And later on, we see that Alexis has taken Danielle's role as an influencer, taking Danielle's idea to frame Frankie and pretending to mourn Danielle's death. And that's what you missed on, Glee. Yeah. It kind of sounds like a Glee episode. Yeah, it really does.

[00:02:42] Maybe more like screen queries also by the way. And it wasn't an episode of a anthology T.B. show we should mention. Yes, it is technically an episode of a show into the dark.

[00:03:01] Well, like they're all featured by like I kind of just consider the movies like a part of like the same theories I guess. Like 80 minutes or something. Yeah, it's like it's definitely movie length. But yeah, that felt like D.V. Me, it did. That's just personal opinion.

[00:03:33] I know how you felt about it. I felt like a movie to me. Okay. But yeah, I don't know. It is technically a series. It's produced by Bloomhouse Productions. Yeah, one of their first, first of all, it's a really female cast directed by a female.

[00:04:01] It's one of Bloomhouse's first female directors. And what does name Bloom? Jason. Bloom was like complaining about how hard it is to find female directors. And he had to like send out this apology because he was like,

[00:04:21] Laining about well, there just aren't many female directors and it's so hard to find them. And then God, we found her and he to apologize because like, I don't know if she's going to apologize for that.

[00:04:35] But yeah, it's not that there aren't any of us that people want to say. Yeah, but yeah, yeah, there was definitely some controversy with what he said. And I honestly though, I do think that his apology seems genuine.

[00:04:51] And not a lot of people like in Hollywood know how to apologize. And I think he did what you should do, which is like, acknowledge that what you said or did was incorrect. Apologize for it and then do better.

[00:05:05] And so far, I think that he has done that. So I will give him credit there where like. And as soon as he got the backlash, he was like, thank you for calling me out because that was wrong.

[00:05:14] And that was really stupid of me to say and we're going to do better. Like that's on us like we haven't done a good job. And that's where we need to grow. So, I don't know. At least someone's trying to fix their fucking mistakes and all of it.

[00:05:29] Yeah. And him fixing his mistake is hiring more women, which is not loses. Men, thank God. I think that the men will be just fine. Yeah. But no, that is one thing I loved about this movie. But there was not a man in sight. Yeah.

[00:06:02] Definitely passes the backfill test. Really does. Yeah, like every conversation. Mm-hmm. Oh. Yeah. So Bloomhouse Productions did another thing like this too for Amazon. They like have another, I think it's called Welcome to Bloomhouse or welcome to the Bloomhouse. And basically it's like another anthology film series.

[00:06:31] I've only watched one and it was terrible. So I didn't watch more. Yeah, I'm so sorry to Joey King who started in the lie but that movie was at. So good. Jenny went late terrible. It's not even horror either. It's just like drama.

[00:06:56] How did he compare it to this one? So much worse. Okay. Just trying to get read on. Yeah, yeah. How you felt about this one? Yeah. Well, I have no desire to watch any of the other ones. I think this anthology. Yeah. It'd be Frank.

[00:07:28] So that's not a surprise to me at all that the Amazon one didn't hit either. But it, I mean generally like speaking Bloomhouse does a good job. So I'm surprised that they're affiliated with this. Maybe TV is just not there strong suit.

[00:07:48] I think that's kind of like anthologies though. Like some are going to be hit, some are going to be misses and that's just kind of how they are. That's kind of how they rope you in right because like you like one and then you're like,

[00:08:05] Oh, I'm going to watch the next and then it's not very good and then you're like, But I did like one of them so maybe I'll watch another one. Unless you're black mirror. No, there's still episodes of black mirror that are asked. Oh, main one.

[00:08:20] Oh, the oh fucking wall though episode. Oh. What? What? What? What? The wall though episode. The one where the fucking bear runs for president. The wall though moment.

[00:08:35] Yeah look at that she never even she's never even seen black mirror and she's sitting there telling me that it's not that. That's so much. Maybe I blocked that episode out of my brain. I'm so jealous of you. Are you talking about the pig episode? No.

[00:08:52] That's he fucks the pig. That's completely different. Okay. Well, what? There's a bit it's like a virtual bear and there's a guy voice again. He like runs for president. I have no idea where do I know. Listen season two episode three. I don't know what season two.

[00:09:10] Clearly you haven't because you don't remember this. It's not a terrible episode. Well, you watch it and then you you tell me if there's a bad. I'll I'll I'll pour back. Well, she likes fucking love it. I know right.

[00:09:32] I would have my head I cannot think of a black mirror episode. I did not enjoy. I feel like there's been a couple here and there that I just wasn't like super into. That's fair. The miley Cyrus one I wasn't. That's a great. I.

[00:09:46] You did know you just like miley Cyrus. You were blinded by her. I like her sister. Okay. I like her soda was not very strong. It wasn't bad. Well, it was the black and white one that one was terrible to.

[00:10:05] About terrible but like there's a black and white episode of black mirror. She you've never seen black mirror. Like you don't work. Oh my god. What we realized today is that you've never seen black. I guess not. Yeah. Anyway other anthologies I've seen. Other than American Horror Story.

[00:10:28] Um. I watched like the first two episodes of American Horror Stories. And I didn't like them. It felt like it felt like fan fiction of American Horror Stories. So I did it. I didn't watch more. I've heard it gets better but the first it didn't. No.

[00:10:47] Now tell me get you. That's how I get you. You can see what you want to watch more. Yeah. Well. Back to this anthology. Yeah. Okay. I watched a whole thing. Dang it. We what? We should have watched all of the anthology. That's like 15 hours of content. Yikes.

[00:11:14] There's a lot. No, New Year is next week. Not from time of recording but I'm posting. Um, so that's why we watched this episode in particular. Yeah, yeah. We started with this one because like there's not a lot of New Year's horror movies if I'm being honest.

[00:11:33] There's some. But there's just not a lot. And we wanted to be like festive. Yeah. I can't think of a more festive way to celebrate than being waterboarded by champagne. I do that voluntarily. Yes. That's just me though.

[00:11:56] Okay. The main girl has like a scar from like the I think she was like there when Kelsey can sit with us. I'm like to like hit her with it. I don't know. Anyways, as soon as it started, I was like, oh my god.

[00:12:07] This reminds me of like the Scar girl from TikTok. Yeah. Do you know what? Yeah. I was immediately like, Oh my god. Influencers. What's going on? It's the Scar girl. When did this come out? Twenty, twenty. It's like four Scar girls. Four Scar girls.

[00:12:29] I'm not a conspiracy theorist or anything, but that's a lie. I live conspiracy theories. I believe every single one of them. What's your favorite conspiracy theory? Um, I have to. My favorite conspiracy theory is that DB Cooper is Tommy Wazell. Okay. It's not the weirdest what I've heard.

[00:12:55] It's so fun. Okay. Okay. I'm going to have to look at one of them. Okay. DB Cooper. Rob's a plane. Disappears with tons of money. Tommy Wazell appears. tons of money. Nobody knows where he got it from. He never talks about how old he is.

[00:13:16] Like, I'm just saying. I'm just saying. Tommy Wazell is a dealer. I'm not arguing with you. I will believe any conspiracy theory. You haven't even asked me the two that I believe. That was what I, what do you believe? The first one. Yes.

[00:13:34] Averal of the infinite suicide when her grandfather died and was replaced by a police. Melissa. Absolutely true. 100%. The second one. Mounds or trees. Looking at them. I know what your talk is like the plateau's. Yep. I don't believe that. But. But I respect it. You're welcome.

[00:14:00] There are no conspiracy theory shaming here. Well, if it's like harmful. Oh. Then yeah. Like the earth is flat. That's not just kind of makes you look really dumb. Yes. Correct.

[00:14:20] But no, I mean more like, you know, like conspiracy theories when it comes to like public safety and health. Like there was a lot of conspiracy theories with like the vaccinations and stuff like that. No. Okay. I don't care. No, no, no.

[00:14:32] No, no, no we're going to die because I think that Afro-Livine died 10 years ago. Exactly. Except, Afro-Livine, if it's true. It's true. Yeah. Anyways, apologies if Skargirl Skar is real. I don't know if it is. If it is. That poor poor girl goes people have torn her up.

[00:14:56] But seriously. Um, I kind of forgot when I started it that um, her be how about teased isn't it? And I was like oh my god be like just recently watched mid summer with Chee-D and now we're watching this was

[00:15:11] Simone in it. They're both in the good place. You're so bright. They clicked. They clicked. Yeah. Yeah. And totally went over my head watching it. Yeah. Did not make that connection. Mm-hmm. Yeah she puts some on and sees them three and four. Yeah. I couldn't get past um,

[00:15:35] what's her name, Sukey Waterhouse being it? Yeah. You were pretty excited about that one. Yeah. She's married to, I don't know. She's not they're not even married. We're just dating. Or an Edward Cohen. Yeah. We're having a baby. The real life for an asme. Yikes.

[00:15:56] I was doing, I was doing the um, okay. Wait. I was doing the, the math. Hold please. Okay. We're doing math. Yes. They needed ideas for their child's name. Uh-huh. And they wanted to pull inspiration from Roberts. Most iconic film. Mm-hmm.

[00:16:24] They could do the like mother mixing name. René's main thing, you know? And it would actually be really cute if they use their mom's names. Um, so Roberts, mom's name is Claire. Okay. And Sukey's mom's name is Elizabeth. So they could do Claire Beth? Oh. Oh.

[00:16:47] No, Claire Beth. That's so cute. Okay. Elizabeth. Elizabeth, I don't know. I don't know how it works. Okay. It does. He could never find my Elizabeth. No, um, anyway. No, Claire Beth. Uh, what would it be the other way? Liz there. How do you think of this out?

[00:17:21] What do you mean? You just combine them? Yeah, because René's main is René and Esme. And Esme. So Claire, Elizabeth? Close the bath? No. No. You have to add the little A in there somewhere. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Mago, ways. Mago, mago, ways. Mago, ways? What?

[00:17:49] I'm trying to do mine. You're white. Low a red. No, my not a tear. Oh my god. I'm trying to combine my mother's names. Oh, god. I'm figuring out my Twilight name and it's terrible. Okay. Okay. Okay. We'll let me humide. I have to type it out. Okay.

[00:18:13] Mine would be Honene. Honene, that's not bad. Yeah, that's not bad. Or, Burly. Okay. Why do you sound like fine? And mine's meant mago, yes. Yeah. Mago is. Sounds like a brain to condoms. Okay. Well, you try combining lowest and margarine. Tell me how it goes. Margaris.

[00:18:41] Yeah, that sounds like a, yeah. But okay. I can get your point today too. But no, just in case, you know, Robert and Sue here listening. Yeah, that's not a bad name. Clear our bath. I don't think that Robert Pattinson is going to name his kid.

[00:19:03] In any way, shape or form took him ever. You know, yeah, Burr, no. Yeah. He's a big fan. Maybe. I don't know if I've ever seen her in anything besides this. I'm an insurgent. Was that the last one? No, that's the second one. I never remember.

[00:19:32] The first time I watched them, I actually watched them out of order. I read them in the first order. The first movie was like fine. Or you get after that. Um, I think those movies were very much like all the other

[00:19:50] YA movies that came from books in that the first one was nothing like the books. And then they got progressively more like the books. Like Harry Potter, the first one was like adjacent to the books. And then they got first, so it's a great one.

[00:20:07] Pretty accurate to the books. I feel like Harry Potter or David O'Donnell. The second one was where they beered off. Do you think? Yeah, because I remember like being mad about it. Hmm. I don't remember her in it though. The ending was different. I remember that much. Yeah.

[00:20:31] Oh, wait a week, one. The third month of last time. I never watched it because I don't, they were supposed to do too. And then they never did the second part. My god, you're right. And we talked about this before. Oh, yeah. Maybe. I think we have.

[00:20:49] We love, we love, we love, we love, we love, we love. Yeah, how does this keep bringing brought up? I don't know. You know what she looks like exactly by the way. So cute? Yeah. So um, I don't remember. Well, I'll explain anything.

[00:21:07] She looks just like the one but I just don't know. Lily Collins. Hmm. Okay, I brought. Okay, okay, okay. Hold on. It's just the eyebrows though. No. It kind of is. Yeah. No. Oh, it's their whole. Five. Sure. Oh my god, I love how in this movie.

[00:21:59] Uh, they're like, oh, oh, have you ever like hooked up with this celebrity? And she hints that she like hooked up with Elon Musk. And I was like, oh, you can tell this was like, propendemic because I feel like people didn't really start hating him.

[00:22:16] It's like, I'm from during slash post. But like, it would never be if it did happen. I would never brag about it. That's disgusting. Yeah, that man is a terror. Yeah, he's not. Like even before the pandemic,

[00:22:38] he is not like my type is what I'll say because I'm going to be nice in my comment on the appearance. But um, literally the second before we started recording, we were saying we wish we didn't have to work. And Elon Musk would be our ticket.

[00:22:57] Yeah, but then I'd have to pretend every day that I like Elon Musk. And I don't know if I could do that. That's why unfortunately I don't think I'll be a trophy wife.

[00:23:08] Like I don't think I could like marry rich because a lot of like millionaires and billionaires are just like inherently kind of bad people. And so like yeah, I can't like I'm so opinionated. There's no way I would be able to keep my mouth shut. Yeah.

[00:23:28] I'm just not fair, Earl. When I moved out to LA, I was talking to my mom and I was like, how mad would you be if I got a sugar daddy? And she's like you can get a sugar daddy if you want to get a sugar daddy.

[00:23:40] But you're not that type of girl. Oh, so like what does that mean? Because she's like you could not pretend that you liked a man. He was a musician just for the money and I was like, God damn you're right.

[00:23:54] I think I think you're better after in feedfinder. I could sell feet fix. No, you could. But is that that easy though? You have really market yourself and I'm not very good at that. I'll figure it out for a shot anyway.

[00:24:20] Yeah, this movie felt like super deep but I did kind of like that it was like this like believe becomes a self-help guru. Because I feel like that step is very like that would be a very natural progression.

[00:24:35] Because I think unfortunately a lot of people who get into that field don't actually want to help people, they just want them to think that they need help so that they can have money.

[00:24:45] Yeah, I mean like a lot of it's like oh like you need to fix yourself and here's the products that can do it when it's like you don't need those things. Yeah, I like that she was just like very much getting her out.

[00:24:58] Like she was getting hers you know what I mean? Like the main girl Alexis and her Danielle. Danielle like oh like she she finally got hers. Oh you liked this she like it was murdered. Yes correct got it okay yeah.

[00:25:18] Well I mean I okay no I didn't think she needed to get murdered but I did like that like she got well it's coming to her. She bullied someone to the point that they committed suicide and like rose to fame

[00:25:38] first or right to after it was her fame for it. Yeah, but then like Alexis took over and I do is Alexis any better? They all kind of seemed like terrible people. Yeah. It was to say apparently a curly shaken I think it's how you say her then.

[00:26:03] She's the one that played Danielle and she based her like character off of Amanda Shantel Bacon who is the founder of Moon Juice. I don't know anything about her or Moon Juice but I do know the Gwenath Peltra likes it so I have to

[00:26:24] hate it I'm so sorry. Yikes. Unfortunately I'm a Moon Juice hate her because Gwenath Peltra likes it. Yeah if it's Gwenath Peltra or Jason it's not for me. No I can't I can't with that woman. Remember when she released a candle it smelled like her vagina?

[00:26:52] I do. I do. And she called it this candle smells like my vagina. Which a fair name? Yeah he does call him like she sees them I suppose. Yeah remember when she released her like oh here's what I eat in a day and it was like coffee

[00:27:10] and bone broth and that was like it. And ever was like you're that's not nope. It's not. Not it. Not enough. More. I did feel for her during her for I'll. Recent. I don't think I felt bad for her I just thought it was kind of funny.

[00:27:38] Actually one. It's like I think everybody knew she was going to win like that was a stupid it was a fruitless lot. It was dumb it was yeah it was for bliss yeah um finding has kind of

[00:27:47] stressful for everybody involved like it's not a fun thing to go through. That's true. Yeah. Yeah no I think I think this was like another movie where like the editing choices were throwing me off a lot.

[00:28:13] I think that's why I thought it felt like TV it just fair actually because there was like a lot of like echoing voices. Yeah. The cuts to the flashback were like really weirdly done as well like it.

[00:28:29] I just think that there were some choices that were made that like if they had done something a little bit differently. It would have been like a little bit better. Yeah. Yeah it was it was almost like to me I got the impression that

[00:28:46] Blue Mouse had this idea. They felt like they could make some money off of it but not enough money off of it. To send it to theaters so they gave it to who they hired a director. Yeah. Because this was a director for hire project. This wasn't yep.

[00:29:02] So you know what I'm saying like it was there like floppy seconds project. So they just wanted to like you know like okay fine like it's good enough to do but like I don't want to put any effort into it kind of thing.

[00:29:15] It's what I felt like to me. I didn't really care about the editing. They didn't really care about the like people that they hired not to say that the acting wasn't great. But like I don't know.

[00:29:27] I couldn't tell us like the acting was like that or if it was just like the choices that were being made and the dialogue a little bit that was like not something about it was like a little quunky. Yeah.

[00:29:39] The whole thing was just yeah clunky as the clunky is a good word. It's just not just wasn't like super well done. Yeah, I feel like it wasn't as good as it couldn't have been. Which is fair.

[00:29:53] January is kind of like known to be the month where like studios just push out everything that they couldn't get done in time for like awards. So honestly compared to all the other movies like came out in January this probably slapped. Well came out in December.

[00:30:12] I came out like you can't have been in it. No it came out. I think December 28th. I came out a few days before. Yeah December 28th. Oh 2018 never mind. I thought this was 2020. No I don't. Yeah December 28th. 2018. But it is I. I don't know.

[00:30:38] I've seen 10 out of the 12 episodes for into the dark. Um yeah there's only two that I haven't seen from the first season. I haven't seen any from the second season. But are any of them any better?

[00:31:02] Yeah yeah there's definitely ones that I like better and there's a few that I'd like to worse. But that's anthologies for you. Yeah well how are you ready? I don't want to jump again. No please. Please jump it. How scary did you think it was? Oh one.

[00:31:37] Yeah this is yeah it's another kind of like the real error not really like super scary. Also there's not like a lot of like empathy and others. I feel like when you are worried about what happens to the character it's like a little bit more like

[00:31:57] your more invested in what happens whereas like this when I was kind of like well you have to walk around you find out. Yeah exactly oh Frankie that's true Frankie was was innocent and Kali kind of like you could tell she was the one

[00:32:15] that was kind of like maybe let's all chill out. Yeah yeah what about you one. I always kill the fucking lesbians. Yeah this is this is a two for because they killed the black characters and the gay. Yeah no bad we're done with that shit.

[00:32:40] Yeah such a shame. Yeah no it's a one for me. Yeah not scary. What about sexy though? One. Oh one as well. Yeah I mean it's just the you can't you can't just say the word lesbian and expect me to bump up sexy factor. That's there it's fair.

[00:33:13] You. I give a 1.5. Oh my god like the gap is an hard to look at. That's fair. That's fair no. There's all women. The sauna you. Yeah. Okay that's fair. What's next? Bucked up. I give it a one pretty run in the wall. Yeah.

[00:33:50] Overall what did you think? I already know you hated it. Yeah I gave it a one. This is the worst movie like nothing could be worse than this. I don't think so. I don't want ones across the board. Wow. I know. I feel really bad. Yeah.

[00:34:13] Yeah now what even so if you want to ask it say this one for me. Do you want to know what it's what it's rotten tomato scores? Did you look it up? No I did not. I think a 33 and I am DBA I think.

[00:34:27] Based on a art I am DBA they've read out of 10. What? Oh then a 3.3. No. Wait where did I see 33? Hold on I saw 33 somewhere. It is a 5.6. Oh 3.7 on IMDB. Yeah that's wrong because I'm IMDB it has a 5.6 out of 10.

[00:34:49] But I'm literally looking at it right now Google.com 3.7 out of 10 IMDB. Yeah but oh no that's a that's a two part documentary series. That is not this movie. It has a 5.6. Oh okay.

[00:35:08] I just have on Rodney Tomatoes out of 18 reviewers so not a lot it's not certified but it has a 94 percent. You're fucking joking. I'm not joking. You're a wrong last time someone.

[00:35:25] I will send you the link right now because it's kind of hard to find you have to find like into the dark and then that specific episode. There you go. Just sent it to you. It has a 90% No way. Yep.

[00:35:51] Four careers podcast first of all rated it twice. And they both rated it fresh. Yeah that is ridiculous when both of the gaze died first. That's you know let's fair but there are gaze so Wow I could not disagree more. I know yeah yeah.

[00:36:19] Gosh I hate to disagree with the horror get queers. Yeah you're a completely unparalleled side of history. Gosh Yeah no this this movie was not super well acted. The to your point like the sound editing there were some fucking choices.

[00:36:50] Yeah there were some other things choices for sure. Yeah like not even just sounded like the cinematography strange. The plot was super predictable. Just it was meant for TV certainly. Would I watch it again? Potentially. I would potentially watch this again to like fall asleep too.

[00:37:17] Okay because it was like a cutesy little like female centric a fun to watch kind of thing but like yeah not a horror movie like just I don't know it did not do it for me. I hated it. I really really hated it. Yeah I couldn't tell.

[00:37:36] I was like why no offense to you but kind of why the fuck is she making me watch this? Oh because of three years. There are other new years horror movies. Yeah there's not a lot of good ones I'm gonna be off this. There needs to be.

[00:37:55] Oh I wish we had we were recording out of order. We are yeah. I wish that we had guest the plot to this one because I would have guessed something better than this. And we could have then produced that movie and would have made something better.

[00:38:13] I'm not a fan. Nontaken, non-taken. But also I think like we can't just watch the good ones you know what I mean? We got to watch some that aren't we should. Our as stellar will run out.

[00:38:34] Watching horror movies I've told you this so many times being a horror movie fan. I mean it's watching a lot of really bad movies. So you can appreciate the really good things. But also though being a horror movie fan, the bad movies are good sometimes. That is true.

[00:38:58] We just came off of watching, not for the podcast but we just watched things killing. Oh my god that movie fucking slaps. That movie is so good it's so bad. There are a couple slurs which is not appropriate but it's so good. Yeah so fucking funny.

[00:39:16] But that's like a very different type of bad movie that's like a purposefully bad can't be. Yeah wait till we get to troll too. Troll too? Yeah. But anyway like I don't know I feel bad for sharing I'm as movie so badly. What is you rated?

[00:39:44] I did not hate it as much. Oh okay. I like I want to give it like a like a like a 2.25. I think it's a little bit better than a 2 but it's not a 2.5 even I mean like this is kind of like a mid movie.

[00:40:00] I don't think there's anything groundbreaking it's just like a fun little thriller. I kind of like the like switching of the alliances and like like who's like the aggressor who's the victim or whatever I like how that kind of dynamic shifts a little bit throughout it.

[00:40:18] But again overly dramatic editing choices don't know where that was coming from. I don't think the performances were like terrible from from from from from from Kirby how about these. I think she did great everybody else. Fine. Mid.

[00:40:42] But yeah I think this is just kind of like a mid movie. There's not enough new years horrors and the doors open for a really really good one so somebody give that to us please. So two or two point five. 2.25. No. To it's not it's not quite a 2.5.

[00:41:08] Yeah. Yeah. I couldn't agree. I definitely didn't hate it though. Yeah. I'm sorry you did it so much. It's okay it's not your fault. Maybe one day you'll understand why it's a 904. That's crazy all the I'm like that's that's only me.

[00:41:33] Yeah that's that's a crazy rating but I think it's just because there's only like there's only 18 reviews so I think people probably sought out to rate it if they enjoy it. You know what I mean? Yeah. So it's like yeah.

[00:41:46] You're only going to seek it out if you like absolutely fucking hate it or if you really love it and I think most people probably watched this and forgot about it three days later so they didn't care enough to go rate it. Yeah. You know what I mean?

[00:41:59] I know exactly what you mean. Like here enough I hated so much I'm going right in myself. Wow you're not a critic so I'm not. I could be if the horror queers are on their right in it. Yeah. Why can't I?

[00:42:17] You know what that's a really good point. I wasn't listening to their podcast that honestly. Yeah that's not up to them. Would you survive? I forgot about that. Yeah we do it every time. Yeah because I'm going to fucking influence her.

[00:42:37] Okay so you're going to prefer for her. I'm fully okay. And oh wait okay wait I didn't think this would be okay we have something. Okay so I'm not Danielle. Great. I do hold a fucking grudge. I'll tell you that much. Yeah you're a little grudge. You're petty.

[00:43:01] Yeah I am petty. I think I think I do. I think I'm suky. I think I'm suky waterhouse and I kill everybody. Wow. And I take over as the new influencer. And being honest. Yeah. Whoops. How about you? What?

[00:43:34] I'm just like I'm like I get that we have to put ourselves in the situation but like I've never been in that type of friend group or like they just hate each other. Like that's just why are you with like where are you friends with them?

[00:43:46] Yeah also like I've cut people who I don't like out of my life and never once have I tied them up to try to emulate him you I'll get there humiliating them and like make them lose their career

[00:43:58] and I I have hated people before when I cut them off but like that's on them. You know what I mean like yeah don't get hit by a smart car or a car model cover on I'm sure

[00:44:07] but like that's nothing to do with me anymore so like I would never I'd like I would never ask like okay but if I'm any of them I feel like I would probably be like Kayla and I would probably die.

[00:44:23] Yeah but I would be different because as soon as I went to the bad like excuse myself I'm gonna be like this is kind of a lot and then honestly like I probably be calling the nine

[00:44:31] one one as soon as you cut her hair because that girl was on hinge and you could tell like that was escalating very quickly. Hey don't like let's not tie people up like that's weird unless they ask for it.

[00:44:42] Consentually definitely tie people up but don't do it when people don't want it. So as soon as that shit started going down I'd probably be like oh I have to go to the bathroom real quick

[00:44:54] be right back for more fun humiliation and then I'd be like hey also can you just send someone because this shit's getting weird and then we all live. Thank you. Who types of survival? Yeah. Kill everybody and not. Thanks for honest with ourselves. Yeah yeah. Well. Okay.

[00:45:30] You want to predict next week's movie? Oh thanks so. Okay it's gonna be our first episode of the New Year. Baba Duke? Baba Duke. If I see you Baba Duke I don't think so. You shouldn't have you have told me you have not seen it so.

[00:45:53] I don't think so. Okay. I think I'm thinking you're skin and meringue. Yep. Which we watched for that. What did we watch? We tried about it. I wouldn't make you watch it again. Speaking of a one. I'm gonna be the one. Oh.

[00:46:12] When we write that one we give that one a 1.5 did we? I can't remember if I gave it a 1.5 or a 2. I think I gave it a 2. I'm pretty generous because I've seen ones. You know what true one. Oh yeah. I do. I know what true one. What?

[00:46:35] It's called run hide die. Oh yeah. I'm never going to make you watch it. A true one. Mm-hmm. Thanks killing three. Oh thank you thanks killers to you. There's only two of them. Oh what does that guy want to call it? Thanks killing three. Thanks killing three.

[00:46:54] I remember that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know anything. I think that one. Don't. I've seen thanks killing. How they went from absolute fucking masterpiece of thanks killing? Two. Thanks killing three is one of life's great mysteries. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you can't win them all. Yeah.

[00:47:25] In hindsight, maybe this may be should be a 1.5 because thanks killing three. This is the true villain. That's what I'm saying. There's always something worse until you find your bottom. Yeah. That's my- If I turn it off, that's a one. But if I can't even get through it,

[00:47:43] that's a one. Yeah, we-we turned it off. We were watching. Yeah, and then you can't do it. We turned off several movies that day. Oh. And that was one of them. Yeah. Well. Yeah. Sometimes you have to for your own health and safety, turn off a movie. Yeah.

[00:48:04] Yeah. Yeah. Um okay so I'll all-all-all redact. Oh, all redact? All redact. Look at that. All red can't. It'll be a 1.5. We're getting closer and closer than 94% let's go, baby. I mean it is like kind of a 94% increase.

[00:48:22] I'm from from the one that I gave it a few minutes ago. I like it. I like it. Yeah. Anyway okay. Yeah, proper Duke. Boba Duke, the Boba Duke. Duke. The Boba Duke. Okay. The Boba Duke. Yeah. Didn't we already know no crambists?

[00:48:42] Crambists is the one that I guess. Just because it has a hand in the name, doesn't mean that it's a sense. Wait, is crampus the one that I already guessed crampus? Yes, you already guessed crampus. Shit. These the Boba Duke I imagine is very similar looking to crampus.

[00:48:58] Okay. Wait, no, the Boba Duke has a hat on, right? You tell me. Yeah, the Boba Duke has a hat and eyes. Okay. Big eyes. Yeah. And he's black and has talons, I think. Right? Where is it? I'm just like imagining the cover, I think. Are they composter?

[00:49:18] Yeah, yeah, yeah. And there's children also in that movie. But I don't know what happens. I just know what the poster looks like. I think. That's okay. You tell me, it's just, you know, what happens to the children? How many children? Um, what happens to them, Katie?

[00:49:37] A couple. Couple. Two. Two. You children? Brothers. A great younger one and an older one. That's typically how it works. Well, they're not twins. They're still an older one. Twins do not cannot at the same time, just. Okay, but I'm not. Okay. Anyway, so there's two brothers and

[00:50:04] they're not twins. Um, and they go into the forest. They're, they find a, they imagine a, like mystical land. Ooh, okay. And they meet the barbecue and they think that the barbecue is like a good guy. And they become the barbecue, you can spend, of course.

[00:50:30] And the older one knows that they can't invite the barbecue back to because the adults will get mad. But the little ones like, oh, we should, we should, we really should. But they don't.

[00:50:49] And then one day, the little one, the younger brother goes and invites the barbecue home. And that's how the barbecue, it's like a vampire. That's how the barbecue, but like, oh, yeah, comes out of like the fantasy world into the real world. You have to invite it.

[00:51:04] Because he's invited by the little one. And then the barbecue comes and kills the brothers' family. Yeah, the mom and dad both. I know. What's your wife? Yeah, in front of them, in front of the kids. Yeah, it's awful.

[00:51:23] And the older brother has to figure out how to banish the barbecue before he kills more people. But he does, thankfully. Oh, great. Oh, how to do that. And then the brothers go and live with their aunt in them. That's the ending. OK, cute. Happy ending. Love that.

[00:51:46] Can we talk to it? Yep, it's loosely based on the book Bridget Jarabithian. Oh, okay. Well, don't worry about it. We'll start crying. No, we can't see her sleep. They're still not recovered from that book. No one is. It's traumatized to generation. Seriously. Great.

[00:52:19] He is wearing a hat. And he is black and white. And there is a little boy in it. Yep. Stop looking things up about it. And it says, let me in. Yeah, we invited. Stop looking at it. Does he have to be invited? Stop looking it up.

[00:52:43] Is he a vampire? No. I'm not. I'm just looking at the poster. Oh my god, he's a gay icon. I forgot. Yeah, yeah, he is a gay icon. That's true. I can't wait. Yeah. I'm not looking it. I'm just looking at the poster.

[00:53:01] I'm sure you're such a liar. You're on Google images aren't you? Stop. No, no, I'm looking at the IMDB.com forward slash title. Oh, I'm looking. I'm looking at the poster. I'm just looking at the poster.

[00:53:21] You're not looking at the poster because it doesn't say let me in on the poster. Okay, well, I was looking at the good images but now I'm looking at the poster. And there's a little boy in his mother I'm assuming. He's gonna die. She's dead. I can literally.

[00:53:39] Well, I guess we'll find out next week. Oh, bye. All right, well, that wraps up for today. If there are any movies you'd like to hear us talk about or you'd like to traumatize me with, please let us know in the comments or
