[00:00:07] Hello, welcome to the Killer Cuties podcast. Hello, hello, hello. This is not our first episode of the video, but it is the first time we're recording in the new year. So happy new year, Katie. Yes, thank you. Happy new year,
[00:00:43] to you. I feel like we should have done this last episode, but you know what, that you're hadn't ended yet. So whatever. Yeah, but I want to know, Katie, what your top three horror movies of 2023 were and all allow you because
[00:01:00] you watched a lot of new horror movies to you in 2023. All allow you to pick any that we covered in the podcast. I'll do top horror movies of 2023 that came out, but if yours aren't, yours came out before that, but we covered it in the podcast. That's fine.
[00:01:16] Go for it. Thank you for allowing me that. I appreciate it. You're so welcome. Two of them definitely from this year. Oh my god, but I can guess. I said you could too because it's not
[00:01:32] brand-field and it's not five nights of ready. So I'll give you those two first. When you will. Of course, obviously. That we fucking slapped was everything I wanted and more. So good. So good. Get out. Hell yeah. So good. Absolutely. That has been like since that,
[00:01:58] I have seen every movie I possibly can in theater or as opposed to at home because it just makes the experience so much better. It does, but yes, get out and then I really really really want to say,
[00:02:10] I've got to let my S1, but that's not a horror movie. So I won't, but it's really good movie. Everybody goes to it. So I'm going to throw it back a little bit to the Boba Duke a little bit, meaning like two episodes ago.
[00:02:26] But that was from 2014. So yeah, you said get out which came out not in 2023 right? I thought get out came out in 2023. Oh, come on. Which way to you is October 2022. No, get out is like longer ago. Get out was 2017 babe.
[00:02:46] Oh wait, I didn't mean get out. I didn't mean get out. Wait, I didn't mean it out. Talk to me. Wait, but get out. It's up there. Get out. That's what I'm like. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:03:00] All of the Jordan Piano movies. Fucking fire. They are. Wait, shit. What about us? Us was really good too. Us was really. I liked us more than get out. Oddly enough. Fair. Now I'm a, I always say talk to me because I talked to
[00:03:20] me. Why did you say something when I said I saw it in theaters? I, because you moved on so quickly that I was confused. Okay. And also I thought you meant like oh, I would have liked to see it in theaters. So like now I'm going
[00:03:33] to say I don't know. I don't know. Okay. I don't know. Yeah. Just to recap. Yeah. The Boba Duke when evil lurks and talk to me. Not in that order. It's just early. Yeah. But those three. Got it. Yeah.
[00:03:53] Just what are you? What are you? You're going to do it for real. What are your three favorite horror movies? Yes. My three. 2023. There were a lot of good ones, but there were some that I
[00:04:03] didn't see too. So I don't know if this list is entirely accurate because I didn't get to see totally killer. I didn't get to see influencer. I didn't get to see things killing.
[00:04:13] Thanks for giving. Sorry. Why not always do that. Yeah, you do. That one was spoiled for me and I'm still mad about it. But from the ones that I saw talked to me, what evil lurks? We knew
[00:04:28] that that was coming. Those two movies absolutely fucking slapped and I think a lot of people that's in their top two like that is their top two. Those movies were so fucking good.
[00:04:37] So then it was just kind of up to third place and there were a lot of good ones. I saw Sir It's green six. I saw, uh, no one will save you. I saw the Hellhouse Origins. But I'm going to give
[00:04:52] third place to saw X. I love me some some movies and it was actually like very good. Like it has one of the highest ratings. I think it has the highest rating of any of the zombies. Like
[00:05:08] crazy. Those sequels got bad real quick and I love them because you know, I'm just me but are they good? Not necessarily. I like them. But saw X was genuinely a good film and I'm very excited
[00:05:24] for saw 11 which is coming out this year. And speaking of that, yeah. What are you three movies are most looking forward to in 2024 horror, obviously. Okay. I'll give me three and then I'll
[00:05:39] give you a bonus. Oh, I love you. Okay. So I love the original I am legend and I am legend too is supposedly coming out this year. I've heard that. I don't think the script is done or anything
[00:05:55] but supposedly it could come out this year. I'm really looking forward to that. Excited. Big fan of video game to movie. Bio shock is coming out. Oh yeah. That'll be fun. Yeah, we've watched some friends play. Bio shock on stream so that one will be special and fun.
[00:06:19] And then there's supposedly a VHS sequel coming out that's specifically sci-fi. Hmm. Okay. And then I'll give you one more because it gives me the opportunity to talk about
[00:06:32] a composer. Oh, here we go. Yep. So Michael J. He knows who I had no idea had any directors credits under his belt has directed TV movie for Marvel and what we say a couple episodes of other TV.
[00:06:47] He's directing a horror movie called them. Which is about a huge nest of irradiated ants that are discovered in the New Mexico desert and become a national threat when two young queen ants and their consort escape to set up new nests. That's not fun. Very creepy. Right.
[00:07:13] Yes, I hadn't heard of that one. Excited does the score. Also, which please please please please please for a long time. Oh, hello. Oh, I'll die. He did like I don't I don't necessarily like
[00:07:31] up or incredibles but he did both those scores both those scores iconic. Right at two we lost. You mean you don't necessarily like the Incredibles? Yeah, I knew I yeah I shouldn't have said
[00:07:42] that to you specifically but I mean Incredibles is not the best pickups on movie. Of all of them it doesn't have to be the best to be fantastic. It's a good movie but it's not I don't love it.
[00:07:54] We just shouldn't talk about animated films because you don't get it. You thought I'm interested in it. It's not fair. No, it's not that's not fair. I know. You guys did on business. You can't
[00:08:11] yeah no no no no no no no you can have horror movies. I'll keep Disney animated. I think I also know good animated films. I've the best animated film. My opinions are right. Trek that's not even like
[00:08:29] come on. Watch the second best animated film. Trek too come on. Okay franchise then. What's the second best animated franchise? Jesus obviously. Oh that must be stupid questions. Second to Shrek obviously. I don't know. I have a very soft spot for Claudia with the
[00:08:55] chipset. Oh my god. That movie's so apt dude that's so good. It's just puns. Strawberry is my favorite. No the second one was only puns. The first one was genuinely good. Okay. Anyways. Well viewers can decide based on that answer alone who they should trust with their opinions
[00:09:17] on what anime you say like cars. I would not. The second best animated franchise of all time. Oh franchise it has to be a franchise? Well no. Oh okay there's a franchise there's like five
[00:09:31] movies now too many. I love them. No I wouldn't say Claudia with the chipset and meatballs is the best but I'd have to think about it more. There's a lot of good ones. Oh my god.
[00:09:46] Good one. Wait yeah that's a good one. That's absolutely. There's also the Rotel Dorano that is good. Treasure Planet. That treasure be it. I just saw Treasure Planet over the first time like six months ago. Super underrated. I made everybody watch it. Yeah very good movie. Yeah.
[00:10:06] Anyways look out for our upcoming new podcast on animated film. Just kidding we would tear each other's throat. Seriously yeah. Do you want to know which movies I'm looking forward to, Katie? Yes please. Thank you.
[00:10:24] Um there are a lot of good franchise movies coming out. Obviously a quiet place day one is coming out. Terrify your three is coming out. Maxine part of the X series is coming out. It's like I'm seven. Oh no. Fuck that movie. Sorry they they fucked it.
[00:10:46] What's dream six? There's no screen seven. They fired the main actress because she posted that she was pro palestine which fuck you. She should be sorry. And then general take a quick right after they've already lobalbed and you've came full so it's like just to make it.
[00:11:06] All the main actors are just gone. So it's like why? There's no fan service anymore. Yeah they dug their own grave on that one. Which is a version because I do love this or the screen series but. Nanny Moore. Oh my top three are going to be one.
[00:11:28] Another franchise but it's the strangers chapter one. They're rebooting the strangers franchise. And we already know how much I love them. Yeah they're excited for more masculine or goodness. You know what? Two we have an untitled Jordan peel film coming out
[00:11:46] in December. So definitely looking forward to that because he doesn't miss and lastly I'm going to say no for Rato. Yeah it's normally I wouldn't say but it's got willem to pho and
[00:11:59] Bill Skars guard. You know they're both going to be popping their pussy the whole time. So yes I'm pumped. I'm really looking forward to those. I hope they put a sponge Bob reference in it.
[00:12:11] I would die. We just funny because the sponge Bob is a no for Rato reference. Yeah they'd be referencing. Oh the reference. Anyway. But no is it that Jordan peel movie? The with the guy who wrote the walking simulator game.
[00:12:30] Was that game cool? Oh, does it. Does Danny? Yes Randy. Straight up. Yeah. No so they're working on a video game together. Oh okay. Yeah he's helping write the script for a video game that they're doing but this is a separate
[00:12:45] thing so this is his just fourth feature film that he's been working on. So. Nice. That's exciting. I know I'll hand very excited about it. But I don't know I guess should we talk about the movie? We're actually discussing to that.
[00:13:01] I know we have horn news. Oh my god we have horn news. Can you wait for horn news? Yes. Okay in today's horror news. Mm-hmm. Well Disney is rolling over in his grave by X Disney cast member Sol can physically feel it.
[00:13:17] But we have not one but two Mickey Mouse horror movies. Headed our way. If you haven't heard an original version of Mickey Mouse that's steamed but willy has become part of the public domain as of January 1st and at least two horror directors wasted no time announcing their
[00:13:33] Mickey Mouse slasher. Yeah we've got Mickey's Mouse trap which looks to be pretty much finished. There's like a whole ass trailer. It appears to be a group of teenagers working on arcade. They're stalked and killed by a man and I'm making mouse mask.
[00:13:49] That trailer dropped on the first so there was absolutely no time there. Yeah. We'll drop a link in the YouTube description. I want to watch the trailer I guess. Um there's no release date or anything but there's definitely something fun can't be.
[00:14:05] Then there's a second movie apparently in the works that was announced on the second. But it doesn't really appear to be quite as far along I think it's more like an idea. It's directed by Steven Lamore who also directed a grinch for.
[00:14:22] Here we go. So if anybody's interested in that, that's available to you. But this Mickey movie is a little closer to the original steamboat willy storyline. So like they're on a boat and a mouse comes and starts killing people I guess which is what steamboat
[00:14:42] willy does. There was any kills animals in terms of them into instruments it's very not Mickey Mouse of him. But they're they're being a little bit more careful to respect the fact that
[00:14:52] steamboat willy is what is part of the public domain not Mickey Mouse. They're like the lawyer on retainer they're being super cautious and um free smart because Disney is known to be very litigious so
[00:15:06] stay tuned for the onslaught of directors looking to make a quick buck out of Disney's empire. Finally oh yeah I mean I think we all knew that this was gonna happen after
[00:15:18] the poop what in the honey came out. Yeah hopefully these ones will be a little bit more critically successful than what in honey was but we'll see. I can't imagine they will be. I can't imagine they're. Yeah I haven't watched it yet but um
[00:15:36] I don't think that people make these types of movies to be good I think they make them just forgot of a cash grab. So yeah yeah and we were just talking about there's a Disney horror movie is coming out not Disney horror movies but horror movies about
[00:15:53] is that actors there's a bambi movie of bambi gets revenge for his mother's death there's a couple of Peter Pan ones I think there's a Peter Pan one specifically about the alligator or the crocodile. Oh interesting there's a bunch so do I guess.
[00:16:18] All right yeah that's the horror news I like it now we can talk about it a little oh finally. All right well today we're talking about wreck. It's been a while since you've seen it or you haven't seen it and you're just listening anyway
[00:16:41] we have a little uh little synopsis from Davy Silva on IMDB. Rack turns on a young TV reporter in her cameraman who cover the night shift at a local fire station receiving a call from an old lady trapped in her house they retributing to hear horrifying
[00:16:58] screams which begin a long nightmare and a uniquely dramatic TV report it's kind of a little piece of what it's about it starts minuela velesco is directed by paco plaza and yama bala
[00:17:13] garot and then they also wrote it with the help of a Luis a or a downhill. So yeah let's talk wreck what do we talk about oh oh it's it's found footage also
[00:17:28] it is found footage which you nailed in your guess of the plot. Thank you I did not if I had guessed adults and safety natures and fire station instead of high school. Yeah it would have been a guess the plot instead of not the plot.
[00:17:46] Yeah I was trying to get my stuff a little credit yeah yeah it's like got the formula right. Um we know this movie was fun it was a short little thing.
[00:18:02] Yeah it doesn't over say it's welcome. No thank god it's not even in an hour and a half right because I'm in it yeah yeah um but yeah it was honestly I think it was originally going to be
[00:18:16] a made for TV film and they released it in theaters and it was kind of a surprise success right off the bat it got critical and commercial success um spawn three sequels on american remake which also had its own sequel quarantine.
[00:18:34] Which I don't remember fully but I'm pretty sure it's like almost a shot for shot remake. Cute is it? Well then it's like what's a voice yes but I guess also when they change
[00:18:48] and I get mad too so who cares it's fun when they go from animated movies to live action movies that's fun when it's shot for shot. Yes yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I'm surprised that they
[00:19:01] went shot for shot with that though because the directors of wreck took a lot of time and energy to hump credibility into the filmmaking. Yeah they did so much um there's actually a documentary which I'll put the link in the YouTube description it's called wreck making
[00:19:26] of it's on YouTube but they go through just exactly how the length that they went to to to make it feel credible. The main girl is a real reporter from Spain so they found a reporter
[00:19:41] that like people could potentially recognize and like knows how to report live things happening they picked little known actors with good improv skills. They chose kind of a realistic format they didn't share the script with any of the actors until they absolutely had to and even then
[00:20:04] a lot of them didn't know what was going to happen next. They didn't know what their mullage meant like when they were getting their makeup done they didn't know like oh why
[00:20:14] why had this tube coming out of my neck they had my idea that I don't know if you watched documentary I sent it to you but didn't have time. It also has a video of some of the auditions
[00:20:32] from actors including the little girl and they're terrifying so fun to watch. I love that yeah which yeah no they they put a lot of time and effort into it and I think it paid off
[00:20:44] it really came across as a new segment. Yeah for sure I mean this came out the same year as paranormal activity and paranormal and look to be kind of the same thing right hiring unknown
[00:20:58] actors which I really like when it's found footage because again it's just more immersive it kind puts you in it and I feel like there's some really great unknown talent that doesn't really get
[00:21:11] tapped a lot but they shot real locations that didn't use sets. They filmed chronologically so again that kind of added to them not knowing what was going to happen for shooting at all chronologically
[00:21:22] so there were no spoilers for the actors. And as for her being a real TV reporter I'm obsessed with that because there is a movie which we will get to we will watch it eventually what it's called
[00:21:38] the crazy. And it takes place in Iowa and at the very end there's a little cameo where they do a news report and they got our local TV man and so we were all watching like that's brusality with
[00:21:52] the house and so I can't actually get into watch an entire movie with your local news anchor it would feel so immersive and so realistic it just adds to that kind of feeling where you can really
[00:22:05] put yourself in it and suspend your disbelief for a minute. Yeah totally yeah was that movie that found footage movie from Arizona with the aliens. Oh Phoenix for God yeah we're they have
[00:22:17] like actual footage of the mayor and all that kind of stuff. Yes that really was a trip I love that hopefully we'll get talking about that sometime but yeah we definitely will but maybe my favorite
[00:22:29] fact would be just because to your point it feels very like oh my god. Right you can see some chrome Arizona yeah when they're using actual CNN footage you're kind of like whoa wait a minute.
[00:22:40] Yeah exactly um but no another thing they mentioned in the in the documentary making of you know the scene where the firefire falls from this guy he's thrown off the third story about
[00:22:55] whatever. I made it at no idea they had no idea but what's funny is that it took them three or four tries to get the doll over the balcony. Oh so they would drop it and it would just land on the next
[00:23:11] story down it wouldn't fall all the way to the ground so they would just hear this loud noise and they would start all so they thought that was what was supposed to happen and then there was
[00:23:19] something dummy folks and then yeah they're building this anticipation of this dummy falling or hearing something loud happened and then suddenly here's this dummy oh my god scared this should that to me. Seriously um and the other thing is um the cameraman the person who plays the cameraman
[00:23:40] was the cameraman he's the director of photography for the movie so not only was he an actor essentially but he was a well-sealed director for photography um they didn't tell him where to shoot
[00:23:51] he was just trying to capture the action exactly doing camera man stuff getting into the action so that's why that scene especially is like what the fuck is happening because he's going to happen
[00:24:06] so yeah the attention to detail for making the movie credible is really cool and they really show that in the documentary too. Yeah and that's also like the like the final scenes where it's
[00:24:20] all dark and in night vision and stuff that where they didn't really know what was going to be happening around them and they couldn't really seal a lot because we're so dark yeah which we've
[00:24:29] talked several times before about filming practices and just trust your actors and stuff like that but at the same time like if you knew that that's what was gonna happen going into it where it was like
[00:24:43] it's just kind of experimental like should's gonna happen but like you're safe like I think if you had consent prior going into it if it kind of be fun yeah yeah almost like being in
[00:24:55] a haunted house yeah but you get paid yeah reverse on out they were informed they were informed oh how to wrap that yeah yeah they knew going into it this is a horror movie shit's gonna be happening
[00:25:10] around you yeah and I'm sure she knew she was gonna get pulled at the end I'm sure they didn't just touch people without yeah they're consent and knowledge but yeah so in that sense I think it would
[00:25:23] be kind of like oh really I agree um it's been here the last scene though the the monster I figured what they called the monster but the girl yeah the monster um Tristana Tristana
[00:25:38] is it something yes um I'm talking about the documentary more than talking about the movie sorry but the documentary um not just her hit hit it's a it's a it's a man who plays the monster um not just
[00:25:56] how that makeup is applied but how everybody's makeup is applied and they really go into detail about how much detail they put into that um and documentary but anyway um the uh gentlemen who plays
[00:26:10] Tristana Tristana Tristana that was his first monster movie and then this year he has a movie coming out um what is it Voyager the last voyage of the divider that's Voyager the divider
[00:26:29] yeah I'm trying to watch that one I had got her and mixed reviews on it though so yeah what's Disney isn't it we actually Disney I think so yeah yeah we're gonna possibly be
[00:26:44] hey they made the sixth science on accident yeah best of course we never did oh my god he said it's me what oh oh you'll love this because we know it's about video games okay this movie was actually one of the major inspirations for the video game outlast
[00:27:11] I've never played outlast oh well never mind but outlast trials came out last year so that was like a whole research of that I know outlast trials yeah yeah so it's that's a series but the original
[00:27:25] I mean I deal with a lot about like infections that are possessions and stuff like that so it's right which I haven't played it either but I've seen like little snippets of people playing it and I've heard really good things so I definitely want to play it eventually
[00:27:40] thanks that's fun I know all right video game yeah whinspile I know I'm a huge fan of this movie it was very well done and I think that every movie should release a 45 minute documentary on YouTube after they released movie I am great thank you no
[00:28:04] everything about the filming yeah it's just really interesting to me and that's life as soon as I watch movie I'm on IMDV looking up all the facts that I can find. I don't know I just find it so
[00:28:13] fascinating so I love it when there's shit like that yeah it definitely made me appreciate the process and the movie itself a lot more yeah you should if you haven't watched it on I think on Netflix
[00:28:27] it's called movies that made us and they like things too yeah yeah yeah and I love that series you're like I can't feel that fix this fuck you guys but anyways which is a good
[00:28:38] advantage of there I want anything though yeah it's a pop topic it's going on I'm seriously I know that that's the same thing where they just kind of talk about how these movies got made
[00:28:48] and all of that I just it's just so fascinating yeah oh another thing that I liked is after the infected breakout there's an elderly guy and he runs upstairs and leaves his wife
[00:29:03] behind in the hallway and then they're never seen again like we just never see those characters again and normally you'd kind of be like what happened to them or expect to see them again but I kind
[00:29:14] of like it because again it leads to this authenticity of the film of like you're only seeing this camera's perspective so to think that they would capture everything that's happening it's just unrealistic so I kind of like that there were some characters that just
[00:29:30] disappeared and we don't really know what happened to them like yeah who's to say I mean they probably turn into somebody I mean it statistically it's not looking good for them yeah I guess I shouldn't say zombie this is like an infected movie not exactly as zombie movie
[00:29:52] I know I actually started thinking a lot about when evil lurks when I was watching this because I always forget how this movie ends and like to me this is a zombie infection really it always has been I've always classified it as that even though it's technically possession
[00:30:09] yeah and I remember you saying that about when evil lurks and I was like it's a position of me but now I was like I kind of had to eat my words because this kind of feels like it was
[00:30:17] I mean yes I mean come on when evil lurks she's walking on the road eating her kids brains come on I will take back my criticism of you feeling that it is a zombie movie thank you
[00:30:32] and yeah infection could be being infected by this demon yeah all you might think I'll say it I'm wrong thank you oh my god I'm just gonna go ahead and mark that clip just a two second take talking I'm wrong I'm wrong yes over and over
[00:30:59] I I I I know that there are some diehard horror fans out there that are like this isn't a zombie movie just you know zombie can link in the floor for rate to many things yeah I feel like
[00:31:13] if you if you classify it as infection then you can get away with a lot more yeah because then it's like you could be infected by anything rather than like because that's I think Danny Boyle has said that 28 days later they didn't think that it was
[00:31:28] a zombie film because they're not dying and reanimating they're just getting infected by this disease because we got nothing of it that's a zombie yeah in this movie they do die in reanimate they do sometimes they don't reanimate but they do die and then reanimate yeah
[00:31:48] no I will I will take it as an infection movie it feels like it I don't want to say I mean it isn't it literally isn't if I just like rabies they say it in the movie
[00:32:00] well yeah they thought it was rabies at the beginning yeah it's like I kind of wish it what it then because refus is already kind of scary so these are scary so I'm just gonna grasp even more aggressive form of rabies that was breaking out oh yeah
[00:32:21] Chuck me up to no thank you seriously yeah um it's the scariest scene into killer mockingbird oh yeah yeah I was like now that that's a scary movie I mean that isn't uncomfortable seeing
[00:32:35] so a lot of yeah uncomfortable moments in that movie yeah I want to say um look at us though agreeing agreeing on infection films yeah I mean it clearly is so I'm glad that actually reminds me of okay so the two directors they came up with a deal
[00:32:58] before they even started shooting that basically if one of them pitched an idea and the other one didn't like it they just grabbed that immediately no second thought just okay we both have to
[00:33:09] like it and I kind of like that but also what if you came up with an idea you really loved and they were trash yeah right you could go for you if they come up with a shitty idea but
[00:33:25] oh god I get to attach to my ideas and be like no yeah yeah that's the worst feeling when you bring something that you're really excited about and people are just like there yeah
[00:33:38] but then again sometimes I like it if it's good you have an idea and someone's like that's really stupid at least I would second guess it be like is it yeah maybe I got a little too careful
[00:33:53] but maybe if maybe if the agreement was like you get one three pass one over rule like no this is a good idea and we are gonna put it in the movie one time you know one time golden buzzer yes exactly exactly yep yeah also originally
[00:34:17] they were gonna have them they were gonna have them be shadowing police officers instead and then they changed it to fire because they were like they're more popular and accepted by the general public which is true they they said specifically in the documentary that it was
[00:34:40] because they're seen as heroes ever since 9-11 which they're not wrong that's yeah but I feel like not 11 changed a lot of perceptions okay I feel like a firebin we're still like before that but which after that it was like yeah heroes cat and pulled it up yeah
[00:35:01] yeah there should have always been respect for firefighters but yeah after 9-11 it's significantly skyrocketed but isn't that that just like to me that shocking I mean obviously it's it wouldn't be shocking if it was an American movie obviously but the fact that a Spanish movie
[00:35:17] also was like taking into consideration things that happened I love like I guess just to me it didn't register until they said that that 9-11 has big of an impact on the entire world not just us
[00:35:30] yeah I oh I yeah I agree I always kind of think of the interesting when you hear about how that impacted other countries because you wouldn't think like there's a lot of tragedies that happened in other countries that American does not give us talk about so yeah it's
[00:35:46] crazy that that kind of but I think even I want to say it was 28 days later that they had to film something on the planet yeah and they had to take a moment just stop and that was a British
[00:36:01] production like that what you know so it's interesting yeah how that is about the world yeah yeah but anyway back to back yeah sorry little down are there yeah yeah telling you every movie needs a documentary I documentary companions
[00:36:29] that mean they're filming it all anyway why not just give it to the people come on give the people what hey what how scary do you think it was nope me I said first okay I'll go first I even too hey it was a little scary
[00:36:54] um it was fun though it was like it was fast and I hate like you talked about just logs of movies but was afraid of fucking slog she's like oh god is it over yet this
[00:37:09] movie was fun it was not too long it was not too short it was like oh my god we were literally talking about movies that came out in 2023 and we both forgot about what's up are you surprised
[00:37:21] sorry it's too hard sorry are we I liked a lot of that movie though just it was I had to take multiple breaks that's crazy it's a slog it was a slog yeah
[00:37:38] which I don't always mind this log but that was a slog yeah if it's good yeah if it's not culminating in a giant penis monster in a attic sorry bow come on are you don't do
[00:37:54] that's okay oh just want more of this white friend movies don't we all how scary do you think it was I give it a 1.5 okay because again there are moments where it's like
[00:38:12] oh fuck what the kid in the basement or in the attic yes fuck yeah I got me there's some nose come is yeah but again like you said I feel like it's so chaotic and go go go it's non stop yeah
[00:38:28] and so I feel like I personally get a little bit more scared because when it's like that you're just ready for it all the time and so I think I get a little bit more scared when there's moments
[00:38:40] of tension where you're like what the fuck is gonna happen that's very yeah but yeah totally there it definitely it had its moments how well how sexy do you think it was I give it another 1.5
[00:38:57] oh it wasn't that sexy but like on a low is pretty cute you don't walk it around a little takes out okay well I get yeah she wasn't bad to look at the whole thing
[00:39:12] what did you give it a one okay should I do it for you huh well not that she's not good looking or whatever but um I was distracted yeah by the face eating her
[00:39:26] well primarily yeah yeah we're not in the for it's like the only thing but yeah you think we have our living yeah oh fuck that did you think it was you're two okay it's like whatever you know they're in faces like just zombie things
[00:39:59] just affected things yeah just the curly things yeah it's like yeah whatever um I I almost wished they turned away when I think it was one of the police officers took a hammer to
[00:40:14] one of the um infected heads yeah hammering turn away which is real shame yeah I would have bumped it up a little bit even the sound was kind of like well yeah well yeah and maybe the
[00:40:32] intent was for them to show that and the I mean the cameraman didn't know what he was supposed to be looking at so yeah when I was true authenticity we'd love to see it what did you give it
[00:40:46] I didn't want to one point five okay I didn't realize how many one point five lots of them oh yeah I don't know go one felt wrong because I do think there's like moments but can I really pinpoint a specific moment no but it overall
[00:41:04] the vibe yeah a little bit up there yeah yeah agree thank you uh overall right is that next overall yeah that's it overall I kept going back and forth again you know me yeah but I kept going back and forth between a four and a four point five
[00:41:33] because I think this is an excellent movie it's one of my favorite found footage movies it's one of my favorite infection movies I just think again they did so much to make it feel so real that
[00:41:44] it's pops up it's a fun watch yeah it doesn't over stay it's welcome and for unknown actors and a reporter they did a great job yes acting was on point so yeah I like this movie I really enjoy it
[00:42:00] what about you wish did you give it a four or four point five I don't know don't make me choose well I'll tell you I gave it one of those two did you I did
[00:42:10] I think I'm gonna go four point five wow okay what about you I'm even a four yeah it's a very solid movie it is um I don't I don't know quite what I'm missing from it
[00:42:32] because it was fun it was well acted I think I think maybe had they like toned up the go or a little bit or I don't I don't know exactly what it's missing but to me yeah before
[00:42:45] from the heart I like a but a very good movie and I think I think that a lot of it boils down to like there are definitely better ground footage movies um not a lot of them but I had to give it a
[00:42:59] fork at that reason that's fair yeah this is up there for me I found footage wise you're just rising I don't like that one as much here we're more like to everybody
[00:43:12] I think this is above that for me yeah yeah that's fair it is very good it is it just didn't do maybe because maybe because paranormal activity was the first time footage movie that I saw just do to me what paranormal activity did to me
[00:43:30] I think it's because I was 10 years younger to first watch on paranormal activity was crazy right like yeah everybody who saw that when it came out was like oh fuck but the rewatch ability isn't there
[00:43:42] for me because now I'll rewatch paranormal activity and be like nothing happened something but it was so just like building on tension and you just watching the clock and waiting for something
[00:43:55] to happen that it was here the first time you see it but I think this movie the rewatch ability is better because it is so intense yeah but I do still like paranormal activity it's all it
[00:44:07] fair this fair yeah and this movie doesn't have mega Micah whatever that guy's name in God that guy was so fucking annoying paranormal activity I see I don't remember the husband he sucked
[00:44:25] see I have the rewatch ability factor because it's been so long since I watched them because they made me do myself that I can rewatch him and it'll be fresh yeah well there you go
[00:44:39] uh let me move me would you survive oh no there were I never really point to the movie where I was like okay I'm just sacrificing myself at this point or like stealing someone's gun or something
[00:44:58] I don't know yeah yeah no nobody survived so I'm out for sure well you don't know if anybody survived I'm pretty sure there are some feats that are left unknown I bet I could guess well you survive no no even I can't maneuver myself away
[00:45:33] chances are low yeah but I will say you do find out on aless fate in rectum oh tell me you get to know if she lived or died who is to say it's probably another reporter
[00:45:52] reporting on how a local reporter died that's probably how the first movie starts as now I was starting it all right next week we can both predict the movie I think you should
[00:46:12] me yeah um okay next week we're talking about night swim which is a new movie that's coming out it actually comes out tonight the day that we're recording this yes like around okay
[00:46:29] night swim there's a family and they move into a new house and there's a pool obviously and I think the pool is haunted and it just drags you down into the depths
[00:46:50] and I think they find out that it was built on an old cemetery and so the dead people are haunting the pool nope I'm no I'm describing the pollter guys that's already what sheds this is hard thank you I'm sorry thanks about haunted pool well no but
[00:47:20] it is about a haunted burial ground and they're building the pool in the backyard oh oh tell me oh okay this is just a pollter guys too yeah okay and I think that they move
[00:47:38] and that's it they win because they just leave the house because they're smart good for them you're definitely better I don't think so that's not have you seen the trailer yeah yeah we're there playing Marco Polo in the pool yeah oh look at those things like a euros
[00:47:58] it's not going oh yeah yeah they're playing Marco Polo and then it's like uh it gives me paranormal though like it did it's definitely like a supernatural movie okay see because that's not okay that's all you got what did you get from it so I was with you
[00:48:25] they bought a house they got the pool the pool is not haunted it's not okay no what are you there's a man a guy a man who somebody died in the pool but that's not who's haunting the pool
[00:48:42] got no the pool's not haunted somebody died in the pool and the there's a man that wants revenge for somebody dying in that pool got it the dad of the person that died or the husband or I don't know okay he doesn't want anybody just women that pool
[00:49:04] and disturb it's not haunted but you know what I'm saying so he is around and watching the pool okay yeah so whenever they're like playing Marco Polo or whatever he shows up
[00:49:17] starts killing got it so it's more of a slasher yeah okay that's what I took out of a trailer I got more like paranormal supernatural okay that's fair see who's right we'll find out
[00:49:33] I'm excited first new movie of 2024 yeah me too I hope we can do some more new ones this year yeah for sure definitely want to like work in some new ones as they come out
[00:49:46] we watched a lot of classics last year which is exactly what I needed to give me a good foundation now we can do a good mix of both yeah for sure cool well bye yep
